‘Mans the engine and did a job against West Ham’ – Liverpool fans single out midfielder for praise on social media
Liverpool crushed West Ham United 4-1 at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday 4 November to extend their win streak in all competitions to three games.
Reds midfielder returned to the starting lineup after being dropped last week in the 3-0 victory over Huddersfield.
Can has come under fire from sections of the media and fanbase over recent months after a dip in form and due to his contract situation.
We took a look at how Liverpool fans reacted to Can’s display on social media following the West Ham game.

Emre used to be the Tank, he now has a new nickname – Hulk.
Emre Can in the 86th minute just smashed past everyone in the West Ham team. Wow. #Hulk

Praise from Steven Gerrard! doesn’t get much better than that!
Gerrard: “The two full-backs were very disciplined, I thought Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum were superb in protecting the back four. It gave licence for Mo Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane and Firmino to cause West Ham a lot of problems and that’s what they did.”

Is Can the engine of this team? Liverpool need to solve his contract issue. The midfielder of Turkish origin has under 12 months remaining on his current contract but has yet to sign a new deal.
Getting Emre Can to sign a contract would be a huge success for Liverpool. Mans the engine and did a job against West Ham.

Could Can and Keita play together?
Emre Can showed today what we will be missing pure dominance in a 2 man MF! Keita/Can might have been perfect!

Look at the stats! Can hasn’t been that bad after all.

Should Can replace Jordan Henderson’s position?
Emre Can is a monster at CDM. If Henderson plays he HAS to be CM only.
Emre needs to own the 6 role #LFC

Looks like Can has won back some of his doubters. Will the Reds be able to keep him on next season? or January?
Any #Lfc fans thinking the loss of Emre Can for nothing after seeing that last run with ball & his performance tonight needs to jog right on pic.twitter.com/SE7LKxMniP
