Mario Balotelli Decides Penalty Taker With Unusual Game

Adana Demirspor beat Konyaspor 3-0 at home to remain in third place in the Super Lig but the main talking point after the game was Mario Balotelli.

The former Italy international, along with Niang had a rather unusual way deciding who would take the penalty against Konyaspor.

Both players had already scored a goal, so they played Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who would get to take the penalty. Niang won and scored the penalty, completing his brace.

The incident went viral on social media afterward.

It is usually the manager who decides who takes the penalties, but it seems like Demirspor boss Patrick Kluivert is happy with his players’ methods.

Balotelli now has three goals in three appearances this season – one start. The experienced striker is expected to play an important role for Adana this season.

The 33-year-old striker joined Adana Demirspor on a free transfer from Sion this summer on a one-year deal and has an option to extend by an additional season.

Demirspor are third in the league table on 20 points after 10 games – 10 points behind leaders Fenerbahce who have won all 10 games this term.
