Mark Lawrenson Gives Everton – Liverpool Prediction, Believes Toffees Could Give Liverpool A Taste Of Their Own Medicine

Everton have not beat Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby since 2010 but have a pretty good chance to change that record on Saturday.

The Reds face a bit of a mini injury crisis with Joel Matip, Adam Lallana, Klavan and Joe Gomez all out injured.

Midfielder of Turkish origin Emre Can is also out with a back problem and Mohamed Salah is a doubt.

Klopp has one eye on the return-leg against Manchester City in the Champions League mid-week so may end up rotating a few of his remaining fit starters.

BBC Football pundit Mark Lawrenson has given his derby prediction.

The Liverpool legend believes the game will end in a 1-1 draw but feels Everton could end up giving the Reds a taste of their own medicine in terms of creating a raucous atmosphere.

Lawrenson wrote the following: “For Everton, it is probably the perfect game to respond after being taken apart by City.

Some of the City players found Anfield hostile on Wednesday, but the atmosphere will be the same for Liverpool players at Goodison Park.”

Liverpool fans gave City a frosty welcome, taking to the streets with flares and giving the team bus a bit of a scare.

The Reds fans created an incredible atmosphere in Anfield and were credited with rattling some of the City players.

Turkey international star Cenk Tosun is set to start his first Merseyside derby.

Tosun did score in the last derby he played for former side Besiktas in the 3-0 win over Galatasaray.
