Martin Skrtel Turns Down Several Offers Including Rangers Move, Set To Extend Fenerbahce Contract

Martin Skrtel has turned down several offers including a move to Rangers to extend his contract with Fenerbahce.

A source close to the Yellow Canaries revealed to Turkish-Football that Skrtel will sign a new deal with the club.

The extension is expected to be a one-year agreement for the 34-year-old defender who has become a fan favorite.

Skrtel was expected to leave as a free agent but he had a breakthrough in negotiations with Fenerbahce and is now set to stay.

The experienced center-back made 40 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow-Navy Blues in all competitions this term.

The Slovakia international joined Fenerbahce from Liverpool on a £5.4m [Transfermarkt] move from Liverpool in 2016 and has gone onto make 119 appearances for the Super Lig outfit.

Additionally, Tolgay Arslan is also set to extend his contract.

The Arslan deal come at no extra cost to the club as the Yellow Canaries will be exercising an option in his existing contract.

The midfielder joined Fenerbahce from Besiktas in January.
