Lille won their first game of the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season after beating Nantes 2-1 at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.

Turkey international Mehmet Zeki Celik started for Lille.

Celik ended up scoring an own goal 51 minutes but he made up for the mistake after providing summer signing Victor Osimhen an assist for his second goal – on his debut.

The 22-year-old right-back has been first-choice for Lille since joining on a €2.5m move from Istanbulspor last summer.

The full-back was linked with a summer exit but ended up staying at the French side who will compete in the Champions League.

Fellow Turkey international Yusuf Yazici made his debut today coming on as a substitute for Timothy Weah on 68 minutes.
