Mesut Özil played a staring role in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Stoke City earlier today in the fifth week of the Premier League.
Goals from Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud earned the Gunners their first home win of the season.
Özil was a doubt going into the game due a knee injury he suffered earlier this month. The former Real Madrid man missed his side’s 1-0 win over Newcastle in the last round of games.
The 26-year-old provided the assist for the opening goal via a long range pass over Stoke’s defence directly into the path of Wacott’s run.
Özil received a rating of 7.9 from whoscord, the Germany international made eight key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of %87.
The 26-year-old featured in both of Germany’s victories in the Euro 2016 qualification games during the international break.
Arsenal moved up into second place in the Premier League following today’s victory. The North London based side take on their London rivals Chelsea in next weekend.
