Mesut Ozil Funds Surgery For 1000 Children & Pays For 16,000 Meals For The Homeless On Wedding Day

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil wed actress Amine Gulse on Friday at the Four Seasons Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey.

Ozil revealed that he would fund surgery for 1000 children and asked friends, family and fans to support the project he will undertake with the charity BigShoe.

The Germany-based charity was founded in 2006, when Germany hosted the World Cup, and the Arsenal star of Turkish origin has been partnered with them for five years now.

The charity work alongside German and Swiss doctors to help children around the world with life-changing surgeries.

Additionally, the 30-year-old’s donations to Turkish Red Crescent helped feed 16,000 homeless people including Syrian refugees.

Ozil and Amine were praised by the head of Red Crescent, Kerem Kinik on his official Instagram account.

Ozil and Gulse are expected to spend their honeymoon in Alacati, Cesme on the Aegean coast of Turkey.

The former Germany international was born in Gelsenkirchen but his family are from Zonguldak in northwestern Turkey.
