Mesut Ozil’s future at Arsenal has been cast in doubt following a reported bust-up between himself and manager Unai Emery.

The 29-year-old’s official reason for missing the Gunners clash with West Ham United on Saturday was down to illness.

However, according to the Times, Ozil’s Emirates future is in the balance after ‘screaming’ at Emery during training last week.

The report states that Ozil was furious after being told he would not start against the Hammers.

Arsenal went on to register a 3-1 win over West Ham.

Ozil recently signed a bumper £350,000-a-week-deal back in January and has three years remaining on his contract with the north London based club.

Arsenal will be hoping to record back-to-back wins when they take on the newly promoted Cardiff City this weekend.

Ozil provided 14 assists and scored five goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal last season.

The 29-year-old endured a turbulent summer with the Germany national team which resulted in him retiring from international football.
