Arsenal extended their unbeaten streak in the Europa League to 22 games following their 1-0 win over Qarabag on Match Day 6 at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

Mesut Ozil had missed the previous five games heading into the clash, three were due to a back injury.

The playmaker of Turkish origin was given a starting role in his first game back following his time on the sidelines.

Ozil responded to his return with a photograph alongside fellow teammate Lacazette on Instagram, who he provided an assist for in the 1-0 victory.

Interestingly enough, Ozil and the French international were among the few regular first-team players in the side.

Head coach Unai Emery rotated his team as the Gunners had already booked a place in the Round of 32 as group leaders.

Emery played several young players that do not usually get a chance in the first-team.

Ozil revealed in his post-match post that he was glad to be back playing again.

Ozil was given the captains armband after Laurent Koscielny was taken off for Nacho Monreal on 72 minutes.

It remains to be seen whether Emery will keep the 30-year-old in the team heading into the Southampton clash in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ozil has a total of four goals and two assists in 13 appearances for the North London based outfit in all competitions.
