The 25-year-old altered a famous Bayern Munich slogan Mia San Mia which translates to ‘We Are Who We Are’ to Mia San Arsenal – We Are Arsenal.
The hashtag #MiaSanArsenal trended on Twitter shortly after Özil posted his tweet.
Özil has been ruled out of action for 10-12 weeks after picking up a knee injury.
The 25-year-old was reported to be unhappy at Arsenal by the Daily Mail and keen on a January move to Bayern Munich.
Bayern have not confirmed interest in Özil and a winter transfer looks unlikely.
The 25-year-old joined Arsenal last year for a club record fee of £42.5m and won the FA Cup in his first season.
