Mesut Ozil regrets signing mega-money Arsenal deal, claims ex-Scotland international

Liverpool legend and ESPN FC pundit Steve Nicol believes Mesut Ozil is already regretting his new Arsenal contract.

Ozil put an end to months of speculation when he put pen to paper on a new deal with the north London based club.

The Germany international was due to be a free agent this summer before signing a three-year contract.

Ozil – who is currently Arsenal’s highest-earning player – looked heartbroken following the Gunners 3-0 defeat to Man City on Thursday night.

The defeat has left Arsenal’s hopes of a top-four finish in tatters. Thier hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League now rest on winning the Europa League.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Nicol believes Ozil is regretting his decision to sign a long-term deal with Arsenal.

“I tell you who will be thinking that [what have I done], Ozil”, Steve Nicol stated.

“He’s just signed a new deal.”

Arsenal are back in action this weekend when they take on Brighton in the Premier League. Star playmaker Mesut Ozil is available for selection.
