Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been busy praising his Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City over the past few days.
United have strengthened over the summer signing Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.
City meanwhile have signed Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan as well as Nolito, Leroy Sane, Gabriel Jesus and John Stones.
Chelsea have made big money signings in Michy Batshuayi and Premier League champion N’Golo Kante.
The Gunners meanwhile have not been able to rival their fellow Premier League giants in the transfer market this season despite finishing as runners-up and guaranteeing Champions League football – unlike Chelsea and United.
Ozil appeared to take a swipe at Arsene Wenger’s transfer policy in a recent interview on German website Spox.
“All the clubs have invested heavily, not only on world-class players, but also on world-class coaches who have been brought into the league,” Ozil said.
The North London based outfit meanwhile have only signed Granit Xhaka and Rob Holdin on a free transfer.
The Gunners – up till now – unambitious summer in terms of transfer activity has frustrated sections of the fan base but there is still time to make a big name signing before the end of the window.
Will Arsenal invest heavily in world-class players? We will find out over the next fortnight.
