Mesut Özil has taken to Instagaram to thank his fans for voting him as Man of the Match in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Stoke City.
The 26-year-old caught the attention of his supporters after a pin point pass from deep provided the assist for Theo Walcott’s goal.
Özil posted a selfie in his car along with the caption, “Hi Gunners! Thanks for voting me #AFCvSCFC man of the match! Have a successful start to your week everybody.#YaGunnersYa #Arsenal #Monday.”
Özil provided a total of eight key passes which lead to goal-scoring opportunities during the Gunners win over Stoke.
The former Real Madrid man received a rating of 7.9 from whoscored, the Germany international made eight key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of %87
Özil played 84 minutes of yesterday’s game before being substituted off in place of Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
