Mesut Ozil to Man United: Arsenal playmaker prepared to make  huge sacrifice for Old Trafford move

Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has been closely linked with an exit from the north London based club after failing to pen a new contract.

The 29-year-old has entered the final five months of his contract and could end up leaving Arsenal free at the end of the season.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ozil is desperate for a move to Manchester United. The Germany international has a strong relationship with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho.

Ozil played under Mourinho during his spell at Real Madrid. The pair won the La Lita title during their time in Spain.

Per the source, Ozil is willing to sacrifice first-team football to ensure he moves to Old Trafford.

The news will be hard to stomach for Arsenal fans who watched their star striker Robin Van Persie make the move to Manchester United back in 2012.

Ozil is expected to feature tonight when Arsenal take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final at Stamford Bridge.
