Mesut Özil unlikely to start against Hull says Wenger [divider]
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that Mesut Özil is unlikely to play against Hull City in the FA Cup.
“Will he [Özil] be available for Sunday? I don’t think so, but we’ll see,” Wenger said.
Wenger does however, believe Özil who has been out for three months injured, will return sooner than expected.
“He has been out for three months, [Theo] Walcott has been out for a year. People don’t realise how much time it takes to come back after such a long period,” Wenger said.
“But he has been out only for three months so he will be much quicker.”
Özil has not featured for the Arsenal since damaging his knee ligaments during a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in October.
The 26-year-old playmaker has made two assists and scored one goal in nine appearances for the North London based club this season.
