Arsenal star Mesut Ozil was not included in the matchday squad against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

Ozil trained all week but was left out of the squad to face the Reds.

This resulted in The Sun reporting that Ozil’s future could hang in the balance.

Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut has, however, revealed to Turkish-Football that Ozil will remain at Arsenal this summer.

Despite reports claiming otherwise Ozil is happy at Arsenal and is training hard to get back into the side after a tumultuous few weeks.

The playmaker of Turkish origin has yet to make an appearance for the Gunners this season.

The 30-year-old missed the opening game of the season due to security concerns.

Two men were arrested shortly before the game outside his north London home. The incident followed a knife-wielding moped gang attacking Ozil a fortnight before.

Ozil also missed the Burnley game due to illness.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has yet to reveal why Ozil was omitted from the squad but he did reveal before the game that “the players here are the ones we think were the best physically to play today.”

Next up for Arsenal is the north London derby against bitter rivals Tottenham on Sunday 1 September.
