“The talks died a little in the summer. It is true that the interest from Beşiktaş persisted for some time, but Martin was and still is very pleased with the state of affairs at Molde,” Karlsen told Norwegian newspaper Aftenbladet.
The Black Eagles were reported to have been in negotiations with Linnes and on the verge of striking a deal according to reports in the Turkish press.
The 23-year-old right-back started his career in Sander IL, then joined Kongsvinger IL and later moved to Molde in 2012 where he won the Tippeligaen championship twice.
Linnes has a total of 11 goals and 17 assists in 111 appearances for Molde in all competitions.
The Norway international has 10 caps and two-years left on his contract with Molde.
Beşiktaş kept close tabs on Linnes for several months as they continue efforts to sign a right-back.
The Black Eagles have also been linked with Dinamo Zagreb’s Ivo Pinto, Cruzeiro’s Mayke and Udinese’s Cameroon international Nyom.
Linnes provided seven assists and scored five goals in 38 games in 2014.
