Freiburg rising star Caglar Soyuncu has been making a name for himself since his Bundesliga breakthrough last year.
The 21-year-old center-back has become a first-team star for Freiburg since joining from Altinordu in 2016.
Turkish-Football have reported Liverpool keeping tabs on the Turkey international.
A source close to the player revealed that the Reds have been among several sides scouting the rising star.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is all too familiar with the Bundesliga and has been alerted to the progress being shown by Soyuncu.
It turns out Roma could however, swoop in with a summer offer like they did for Cengiz Under.
The Italian giants sporting director Monchi has confirmed interest in Soyuncu.
“We are scouting Caglar, we have been keeping close tabs on him,” Monchi said.
“We know how talented he is and how much potential he has.”
Soyuncu made a name for himself at the highly acclaimed Altinordu academy alongside Under.
The defender joined Freiburg for £2 million in the summer of 2016.
Soyuncu meanwhile has made no secret that he plans to play in the Premier League or La Liga in the future.
“I am committed to Freiburg and feel I have really developed here,” Soyuncu said in an interview with beIN Turkey.
“But my dream is to play in the Premier League or in Spain.
“Right now I am at the right place and the only focus I have is on the best finish to the current season.
“If I talk now it could be disruptive if there are offers we will hold talks at the end of the season.”
