Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe, now under the stewardship of celebrated manager Jose Mourinho, is reportedly weighing up an offer for Premier League winger Marcus Tavernier from Bournemouth.
This move comes as Mourinho looks to leverage his Premier League connections to strengthen his new squad.
According to exclusive reports from TBR Football, Tavernier is a key target for the Yellow Canaries.
Mourinho’s interest in the English league is not limited to Tavernier, with earlier reports linking Fenerbahçe to Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa.

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Jose Mourinho has specifically made inquiries regarding the 26-year-old Bournemouth winger, as Fenerbahçe prepares to formalize an offer.
However, the Turkish side faces stiff competition from at least two other Premier League clubs. West Ham United reportedly made a move for Tavernier last month as they search for a replacement for Mohammed Kudus, while Newcastle United has also been consistently monitoring the player.
Bournemouth, under manager Andoni Iraola, views Tavernier as a pivotal performer within their squad.
Despite this, sources indicate that the Cherries are well aware of the growing interest in their winger. Having acquired Tavernier from Middlesbrough for less than £15 million in 2022, Bournemouth stands to more than double their investment if they sanction his departure from the Vitality Stadium.
Former Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil previously lauded Tavernier’s impact, particularly during the 2022/23 season, where he made 19 Premier League appearances, contributing five goals and four assists.
Following a match where Tavernier inspired a comeback against Fulham, O’Neil publicly praised his former player: “I don’t want to big him up too much because I don’t want anyone to come and take him but he’s a good footballer.
At top clubs you have players who are gifted technically and players that are gifted physically. Marcus Tavernier has both. It was an incredible goal. I can’t believe we needed a strike that good to score. It was a big goal.”
As Fenerbahçe steps up its transfer activity under Mourinho, the pursuit of Marcus Tavernier signals their intent to bring high-calibre talent from top European leagues to Istanbul.
