Newcastle Agree Deal for Turkish Teenager

Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign 18-year-old Turkish forward Baran Yildiz from Gençlerbirligi, according to the club’s general manager, Ali Ekber Düzgün.

“Baran Yıldız’s transfer to Newcastle United has been completed. Official signatures have also been made,” Yildiz said.

“The transfer of one of our players from our infrastructure to a Premier League team is an important success for both Gençlerbirliği and our player.

“I hope he successfully represents Gençlerbirliği abroad like Arda Güler. We wish him success in his career.”

Düzgün confirmed that the transfer has been completed and that Yildiz has signed a contract until 2029.

Newcastle have been pursuing the talented youngster throughout the January transfer window.

Yildiz is considered a highly promising prospect and is expected to be a valuable addition to Newcastle’s youth system.

The central midfielder was playing for the Genclerbirligi U19 side this season, the Ankara based side have a history in Turkish football for developing young talent.

The reported fee for Yildiz is around £2.5 million. This deal aligns with Newcastle’s strategy of investing in young talent, following their recent signing of Irish youngster Kyle Fitzgerald.

The acquisition of Yildiz further demonstrates Newcastle’s commitment to building a strong foundation for the future.
