Newcastle Outcast Strikes Deal In Principle With Super Lig Outfit, Transfer Expected To Be Announced Within 24 Hours

Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet has reached a deal in principle with Super Lig outfit Bursaspor.

A source close to the Super Lig outfit revealed to Turkish-Football that an official announcement is likely to be made within the next 24 hours.

The midfielder traveled to Turkey yesterday and underwent his Bursaspor medical.

Saivet struggled to make his mark at Newcastle since joining from Bordeaux in 2016. The Senegal international does have another three-years remaining on his contract.

Bursaspor boss Samet Aybaba is no stranger to Saivet having coached the 27-year-old during his time in charge of Sivasspor last season.

The Newcastle outcast spent the second half of last season at Sivasspor.

The Senegal international provided two assists in 12 Turkish Super Lig games for the Yigidolar.

Newcastle started the season with a defeat to Tottenham Hotspur but Saivet was not named in the matchday squad.

Additionally, the midfielder was not included in the squad list that was submitted to the Premier League ahead of the start of the season

Head coach Rafa Benitez does not appear to have plans for the midfielder this season.
