Newcastle prepare €10m January move for Copa America winning goalkeeper

Newcastle United have shortlisted two goalkeepers in search for a new goalkeeper in January according to the Sun.

Per the source, Magpies head coach Rafa Benitez wants a new keeper.

Real Sociedad keeper Geronimo Rulli and £8 million rated Galatasaray star Fernando Muslera are being targeted.

Muslera has been in impressive form for Galatasaray this season.

The Lions are currently first in the Super Lig having conceded the fewest goals in the league (6).

The 31-year-old keeper already has three league titles, three Turkish Cup trophies and four Turkish Super Cup championships under his belt.

Muslera also played an important role in Uruguay lifting the 2011 Copa America as well as finishing the 2010 World Cup in fourth place.

The Uruguay international has established himself as a fan favourite at Galatasaray since joining from Lazio in 2011.

Despite being linked with several Premier League sides over the years Muslera has always opted to remain in Turkey.

Muslera recently extended his contract deal and has another four-years remaining on his contract.
