Newcastle Rule Out Move For £15m Liverpool Forward But Anfield Exit Could Still Be On The Cards, Turkish Giants Interested

Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge had been linked with a move to Newcastle United but the transfer rumors have been shot done by the Liverpool Echo.

Per the source, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has no intention of signing Sturridge this summer.

Benitez had wanted Sturridge on loan to Newcastle for the second half of last season but the striker opted for a move to West Brom instead where he failed to score a since goal.

The England forward had a disastrous spell at the Baggies and a hamstring injury restricted him to just six appearances.

West Brom were relegated but Liverpool still believe they can demand £15 million for him.

The 28-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his contract but earns £120,000 per week.

The striker is expected to return to Melwood for pre-season training on July 2 but the report claims he does could struggle to force his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Newcastle may not be interested but Fenerbahce are reported to be keen on a move.

Sturridge is however, keen on weighing up his options before making a decision over his future.

The Yellow Canaries are in pursuit of a new striker after Vincent Janssen returned to Tottenham on loan and the sale of Fernandao.

Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli is currently in England holding talks with several clubs over signing a new forward.
