Newcastle set to offer €15m for striker target and send scouts to watch Champions League clash

Newcastle United are preparing a €15 million offer for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun according to Fotomac.

Per the source, the Magpies will send scouts to watch Tosun in person over his next two games against Akhisar on Friday and Porto in the Champions League next week.

Besiktas are reluctant to sell Tosun in January and will reportedly not accept an offer below €20 million for their star man.

The 26-year-old is keen on a Premier League move but wants to leave at the end of the season.

Tosun has played an important role in Besiktas lifting the league title for the past two seasons.

The Black Eagles are currently just five points off league leaders Galatasaray and among the favourites to win the championship again.

Tosun has also excelled in the Champions League, in fact only Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Kane have directly been involved in more goals (6).

The Besiktas striker has scored four and provided one assist in the competition this season.

Tosun has also become the top goalscorer for the Eagles in their Champions League history.

The Istanbul giants are currently first in Group G and will guarantee a first place finish with a draw against Porto on Tuesday.

Besiktas could book a place in the next round of the Champions League as leaders for the first time in their history.
