Newcastle to face competition from Premier League rivals for Cape Verde international – Everton also interested

Garry Rodrigues

Interest is growing in Galatasaray star winger Garry Rodrigues following an impressive run of form.

The Cape Verde international was the star of the show for Galatasaray over the weekend despite their 2-1 defeat. Rodrigues scored a contender for goal of the season to put his side ahead in the first half.

Rodrigues has been closely linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent weeks.

However, Turkish outlet SporX have reported that the Magpies are likely to face stiff competition from Stoke City and Everton for the Dutch-born winger’s signature.

Galatasaray rejected two bids from Newcastle over the January transfer window and have set a €15 million price tag on the winger.

The Magpies have been in impressive form of late and unbeaten in their last four games. Newcastle are back in action this weekend when they face Bournemouth at the Dean Court stadium.

Galatasaray meanwhile are hoping to return to bounce back from their defeat to Kasimpasa when they host Bursaspor at the Turk Telekom stadium.
