Newcastle United midfielder set for move to Turkey after personal terms agreed says club vice president

Bursaspor are closing in on Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saviet.

The Senegal international has been closely linked with a move back to the Turkish Super Lig this summer after falling out of favour with Rafa Benitez.

According to Bursaspor Vice President Cem Ozturk, the Green Crocodiles have already struck a deal with both Saivet and Newcastle.

Ozturk went onto state that Bursaspor officials will make the final decision on whether to sign Saivet on loan.

“We have the opportunity to sign Saivet, the final decision will be made by us,” Ozturk told the Turkish outlet Olay.

“While it is not always right to discuss transfers before they have been completed, I can confirm that the Saivet transfer will happen if we want him.”

Saivet is no stranger to the Turkish Super Lig after spending the second half of last season on loan with Sivasspor.

Bursaspor’s newly appointed manager Samet Aybaba worked with the Newcastle midfielder while managing Sivasspor last season.

Saivet registered two assists in 12 Turkish Super Lig games for the Yigidos last season.
