Newcastle United star linked with summer exit but only if club lower asking price

Bursaspor are hoping to sign a star playmaker this summer as they continue their preparations for the 2018/19 season.

According to the Turkish outlet Olay, the Green Crocodiles have two players at the top of their transfer shortlist – Newcastle United’s Henri Saivet and Sevilla’s Ganso.

Per the source, Bursaspor’s recently appointed manager Samet Aybaba is keen on signing Saivet. The experienced tactician worked with the Senegalese midfielder last season at Sivasspor.

The report goes onto state that Bursaspor are however yet to agree a fee with Newcastle for Saivet and are waiting for the Toons to lower their asking price.

Meanwhile, Bursaspor have established contact with Ganso’s representatives.

Saivet is expected to leave Newcastle this summer after failing to break into Rafa Benitez’s first team. The 27-year-old was loaned out to Sivasspor during the second half of last season where he provided two assists in 12 games.

The Senegal international also spent the 2016/17 season out on loan with Ligue 1 side Saint Ettiene.
