Newcastle United step up interest in €20m international striker Cenk Tosun – Tottenham scouts also monitor in-demand star
Newcastle United have stepped up their interest in Besiktas star striker Cenk Tosun.
The newly promoted Premier League side are one of several clubs across Europe interested in signing the in-form Turkey international.
A source close to Besiktas has revealed to Turkish-Football that Newcastle United scouts were present during the Black Eagles 2-1 defeat to Genclerbirligi on Friday.
Per the source, several Premier League teams scouts – including Tottenham – have been present at Besiktas fixtures for several weeks. Besiktas are preparing to receive a January bid for Tosun and have already drawn up a shortlist of potential replacements.

Besiktas have set an £18 million valuation on their star striker who has scored five goals in ten games so far this season.
Tosun scored the Champions League goal of the week Match Day 1 during Besiktas’ 3-1 victory over Porto. The 26-year-old has played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title for the past two seasons.
