Newcastle United suffer transfer blow as international playmaker set to sign new deal, Everton also interested

Newcastle United and Everton have suffered a blow in the race to sign Besiktas star playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Besiktas have agreed personal terms with the Turkey international who is set to pen a contract extension.

Ozyakup’s Besiktas future has been cast in doubt after entering the final three months of his current deal with the Istanbul giants.

Per the source, a €12 million release clause will be included in Ozyakup’s new contract.

However, a source close to the Besiktas recently revealed to Turkish-Football that talks between Everton and Ozyakup’s agent have also been ongoing.

Meanwhile, Besiktas face Akhisar in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday night.
