Newcastle United transfer news: In-demand £6m Magpies star Emmanuel Riviere subject to late bid from Ligue 1 side

Emmanuel Riviere’s proposed transfer to the Turkish Super League side Osmanlispor is under threat.

The Turkish outlet FutbolArena claim that the Ankara based sides are in advanced talks with the former Monaco forward. Furthermore, the report states that negotiations have been positive and that a ‘happy ending’ had been reached.

Osmanlispor are on the hunt for a new striker following the departure of Pierre Webo.

However, the France based outlet L’equipe have reported that Ligue 1 side Metz are also interested in signing Riviere. Per the source, Metz have made headway during negotiations and are close to convincing the forward to return to France.

Riviere made the move to Newcastle for £6 million from Monaco three years ago.

The 27-year-old has scored just one league goal in the three years since joining the Magpies. Riviere spent last season on loan at the Spanish side Osasuna and failed to score a single goal during his spell in La Liga.
