Germany suffered a shock 3-0 defeat against rivals the Netherlands at the Amsterdam Arena which left them bottom of Group A1.
The Germans ended up losing their sixth game in their last 10 matches.
Germany crashed out of the World Cup in Russia this summer at the group stage.
Arsenal star Mesut Ozil retired from international football after the tournament citing racism and disrespect as being among the reasons.
