Fenerbahçe beat Kasımpaşa 1-0 at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stadium to move into first place in the Turkish Super League over the weekend.
Twenty-one-year old defender Kenneth Omeruo started for Kasımpaşa and put in a solid performance making the highest number of interceptions (7) over the course of the 90 minutes.
Omeruo has now started all four Kasımpaşa games and played the full 90 minutes in each match.
The Nigerian international defender revealed that he was pleased with the fight his side showed in the Istanbul derby but understandably disappointed with the result on his Instagram account.
The caption read: “#Kasimpasa #fernabahçe #superleague #omeruo #thankful #osinachi great game great fight but unlucky with the result..”
Omeruo joined the Paşalar from Chelsea on loan over the summer transfer window with a future buy-out clause option.
The Nigerian international defender was part of the Middlesbrough team that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season.
Kasımpaşa take on Eskişehirspor away next weekend at the Atatürk stadium.
