On-loan Fenerbahçe winger Lazar Markovic believes that his side are more than capable of making it to the Europa League final this season.

Markovic told the Fenerbahce Magazine that Fenerbahce are a stronger side than their Europa League Round of 32 opponents Lokomotiv Moscow and that he expects to progress to the next round.

“We want to win both games but I actually have my sight set on the final and that is my aim,” Markovic said.

“We know what we are capable of and know we are more than able to make it to the final.”

The Serbian international has made it to the Europa League final in the past with Benfica back in the 2013-14 season eliminating Fenerbahçe at the semi-final stage along the way. The Portuguese giants lost against Chelsea in the final but did lift the league title and domestic cup the same year.

Markovic has won a trophy at every club he has played for except Liverpool. Fenerbahçe are currently first in the Super League and still in the Turkish Cup as well as the Europa League.

The 21-year-old joined the Istanbul giants on a one-year loan from Liverpool over the summer scoring twice times and providing three assists in 19 appearances for the Canaries this season.
