Germany star playmaker Mesut Ozil played the full 90 minutes yesterday during this sides 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mexico.
However, the 29-year-old inclusion in Joachim Low’s starting eleven has been a topic of controversy among Arsenal fans on social media.
Ozil missed the final weeks of Arsenal’s season with a back injury and was a doubt for Germany due to a knee problem.
Several Gunners fans took to Twitter to state that Ozil works harder for his nation that he does his club. The star playmaker played a starring role for Germany during their World Cup triumph back in 2014 in Brazil.
Strange how Ozil never goes missing for Germany, clearly 200k a week is not enough motivation for him when playing for Arsenal #GERMEX

Look at how wonderful Mesut Ozil plays for Germany in that number 10 role…at Arsenal, Wenger shifted him to the wings to accomodate Ramsey and Wilshere…and then wasted 4 years of his career behind a slow Olivier Giroud

Unbelievable that you wouldn't see ozil back and defending like that for arsenal

I love Ozil….but he does look to give a bit extra when playing for Germany than arsenal..no?

Now, I havent followed Arsenal as closely as I'd have liked the past few seasons but why does Ozil always appear better when in international play rather than league???

Germany ozil and Arsenal ozil are two different people one is the evil twin

Is it just me or does Ozil play better for Germany than he does for Arsenal
— Solomon Lane (@TheRealSolly) June 17, 2018
I like the fact that Ozil doesnt play lazy for Germany like he does for Arsenal

Ozil provided 14 assists and scored five goals in 35 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season. The former Real Madrid star has also made 90 appearances for the Germany national team.
Joachim Low’s side will be desperate to bounce back from today’s defeat when they take on Sweden on Saturday evening.
