Ozan Kabak Set To Miss First Schalke Game Of The Season

Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak is set to miss the first game of the season due to injury a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.

Kabak has been out with an ankle injury since 2 June during the Turkey national team camp for the Euro 2020 qualification campaign.

The 19-year-old has missed pre-season as a result and is not likely to be match fit for another four weeks.

Schalke take on Drochtersen in the German Cup on 10 August but Kabak will not feature.

The Turkey international may also miss the first Bundesliga game of the season against Borussia Monchengladbach on 17 August.

Kabak joined Schalke on a €16m move from Stuttgart over the summer.

The young defender was snapped up by Stuttgart on an €11m move from Galatasaray in January.

Kabak enjoyed a meteoric rise last season going from being a Galatasaray academy player to breaking into the first team in September.

After an impressive showing in the league and Champions League he was signed by Stuttgart.

Kabak settled in quickly in Germany and was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season.
