Ozan Tufan wants to follow in footsteps of Barcelona star

Fenerbahçe midfielder Ozan Tufan has revealed that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Barcelona star Arda Turan and play outside of Turkey in the future.

Tufan also praised former teammate Enes Ünal who join Manchester City on a £2 million transfer last month and Roma midfielder Salih Uçan for representing Turkish football abroad.

“I want to represent my country like Arda Turan. We need to produce more Salih Uçan’s and Enes Ünal’s,” Tufan was quoted as saying by Fanatik.

Tufan also revealed that he is delighted to have joined Fenerbahçe and underlined that he wants to give his all to the Yellow Canaries.

“I realised from the first training session just how big this club is,” he added.

Tufan and Volkan Şen were both unveiled in an official signing ceremony held at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium today.

Şen and Tufan raise the total number of transfers made from Bursaspor to Fenerbahçe to four – Fernandao and Şener Özybayraklı had already signed for the Yellow Canaries last month.

Manchester United were also closely linked with the young midfielder as were several other European clubs according to Ozan’s father.

“Other big European teams have sent scouts to watch Ozan play…AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea and both Manchester clubs, City and United,” Mehmet Tufan told Spanish newspaper AS.
