Arsenal legend Paul Merson has tipped his former side to continue their winning run of form this weekend.
The north London based club have registered eight wins in a row and know a win on Sunday could take them up into third spot in the Premier League.
Unai Emery’s side registered a 3-0 win over Qarabag FK in the Europa League earlier this week and are up against an out of form Fulham. The Cottagers have lost two and drawn two of their last four league games.
Star playmaker Mesut Ozil is expected to return to the starting eleven after being rested for the majority of the clash against Qarabag. The 29-year-old has scored three goals in his last four games for Arsenal.
Interestingly, Ozil is yet to register a single assist for Arsenal this season.
Despite Arsenal’s impressive run of form, Merson believes they have been fortunate to remain unbeaten for so long. However, the former England international does believe Arsenal will come away with all three points.
“I think Arsenal have been a touch fortunate with their results. they’ve won all these games on the trot but if you break it down they’ve not really been that impressive,” Paul Merson told SkySports.
“It could’ve easily gone the other way so Fulham will feel like they’ve got a chance, but in the end, Unai Emery’s side will edge it.”
