Former England international Paul Merson has revealed his prediction for this weekend’s blockbuster Prmeier League fixture between Liverpool and Manchester City.
The clash takes place at Anfield on Sunday while kick-off is scheduled for 16:00 (GMT).
The two title candidates sit level on points at the top of the Premier League table after seven games. Man City have won their last four games in all competitions while Liverpool are without a victory from their last three matches.
The Reds have however defeated Man City in the two sides last four head-to-head fixtures.
Ilkay Gundogan is a major doubt for the Citizens going into the game after picking up a hamstring injury during the week.
Merson has topped Manchester City to defeat Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday. The former Arsenal man believes Liverpool are not playing as well as they were last season and stated that the Reds front three have not been as effective in recent games.

“I’m slightly favouring Manchester City. For me, it looks like hard work for Liverpool at the moment,” Paul Merson told SkySports.
“Last week they had a great game against Chelsea but I think it took its toll on Jurgen Klopp’s team. Their pressing from the front looks like hard work whereas last year it looked natural. I think they are going to fall asleep a couple of times during the game for City to punish them.”
Merson went onto predicts a 2-1 victory for City.
