Pep Guardiola set for all-out attack after only picking three Man City defenders, while Gundogan starts on the bench against Liverpool

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has opted to field an extremely attacking starting eleven for tonight UEFA Champions League encounter.

Tonight’s encounter takes place at the Etihad stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 (GMT). City need to score at least three goals tonight if they are to overturn their 3-0 defeat in the first leg.

Guardiola has decided to start with just three defenders for tonight’s game against Liverpool by fielding what looks to be a 3-3-4 formation. Walker, Otamendi and Laporte and the only defenders starting while Fernandinho is the sole defensive midfielder.

There also isn’t space for the deep-lying playmaker Ilkay Gundogan who is used to providing cover for Man City’s back-line.
