Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reflect upon the past 12 months and reveals his hopes for the next year.

The 29-year-old stated that he is delighted with his last 12 months which included a FA Cup win, qualifying for the World Cup and falling in love with the former Miss Turkey Amine Gülşe.

However, Arsenal fans may feel 2018 was a year in which they saw their beloved team regress rather than progress.

Interestingly, Ozil didn’t mention Arsenal in his plans for 2018 but stated that he is looking forward to the World Cup in the summer.

“The memories of 2017 were endless and unforgettable. FA Cup – win, World Cup – qualification, releasing my autobiography ‘Gunning for Greatness’, my own M1Ö – fashion brand, meeting such incredible guys like Brendan and Charlie, falling in love with Amine Gülşe,” Ozil stated.

“Thank you to all my followers for being a part of 2017. I’m sure the World Cup year 2018 will be even better. I wish you all the best in the new year”
