Mesut Ozil invited a young Arsenal fan with a brain tumour to watch Arsenal play Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium last season.
The ‘My Shining Star’ charity started a social media campaign to get the youngster an invite to an Arsenal game.
Ozil took it upon himself to make Charlie’s dreams come true and has had a close relationship with the youngster ever since.
The playmaker of Turkish origin invited the young fan along to the weekend game against Watford at the Emirates.
The 29-year-old and his fiancee Amine Gulse personally took Charlie to the game.
Ozil then took Charlie behind the scenes to the dressing room where he met the Arsenal team and shared a photograph alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Elneny, Jack Wilshere, Mustafi, and others on his Instagram account.
Charlie wrote in his caption that he had an amazing day and thanked Ozil and his agent Erkut Sogut for the experience: “I can’t describe Yesterday… It was AMAZING!!! Mesut took me back into the changing rooms and I met them all! I’d like to thank, Erkut, @m10_official and @gulseamine for a wonderful day!”
