Chelsea defender on loan at Kasimpasa Kenneth Omeruo has publically backed the African Cup Of Nations Turkey event.

The initiative brings together communities from across Africa residing in Turkey including students, recent immigrants and refugees fleeing wars.

The event has become an annual get together in the Ferikoy sports club stadium.

The Nigeria international shared a poster regarding the tournament alongside a caption explaining the details of the initiative: “African Nations Cup Turkey is an annual tournament organized by the African community in Turkey of which am an Ambassador.. the community is finally registered and recognized by the Turkish Government.. ok I don too talk.. we need sponsors to make this year Tournament a huge success.. u will be amazed how many African talents we have here in Istanbul… Agents and scouts are invited.. Date is 29th of this month.. venue is Ferikoy spor stadium.. #omeruo.. and special thanks to my friends who have agreed to support..”

Omeruo has spent the past three seasons at Turkey on loan from Chelsea playing for Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.

The powerful centre-back has never actually played a game for the Blues despite being contracted to the club since 2012.

The 24-year-old has helped his side win and keep a clean sheet in their last three games.
