Photo: Everton Star Reveals Manager Who Pulled Off Shock Victory Over Fenerbahce Was His Former Teammate

Malatyaspor manager Erol Bulut rocked the Super Lig after beating Fenerbahce 1-0 on Saturday at the Yeni Malatya Stadium.

The newly-promoted side managed to beat one of the title favorites in what was the surprise victory of the week.

It turns out Bulut was actually Everton striker Cenk Tosun’s teammate or should we say club-mate during his time at Frankfurt.

Tosun made the revelation on his Instagram account sharing a photograph of himself – with his hair dyed white – with Bulut from his childhood days.

Tosun rose through the Frankfurt youth ranks before being transferred to Gaziantepspor and then Besiktas where he won two league titles.

The Everton striker must have been aged about 8-10 in the photograph as Bulut was a Frankfurt player between 1999-2001.

Bulut went onto become a journeyman playing in several leagues across Europe before retiring in 2012 and entering management.

The 43-year-old took charge of Malatyaspor in 2017 and ensured promotion to the Super Lig in his first season.
