Amid the sea of traditional black suits was one man who decided to make a difference at the Ballon D’or bash. That man was Samuel Eto’o. The Cameroon international attended and presented at the ceremony wearing a leather tuxedo – yes a leather tuxedo.
Eto’o was not receiving any awards but the ex Barcelona star was one of the hosts who was on duty to present four players from his former side with the team of the year award.
The legendary striker who now plies his trade in Turkey at Antalyaspor was the talk of the town with his unusual choice of material but was almost outshone by Paul Pogba who decided to do something a little difference as well.
Eto’o has hit the ground running at Antalyaspor and already has 13 league goals for the newly promoted side. The experienced striker took control of his side as a player-manager for a few games when former head coach Yusuf Simsek was fired and is the captain of the team.
