The Germany national team has sent Mesut Ozil a surprised birthday message via their official Twitter page.
The Arsenal star playmaker turned 30 today and hasn’t featured for Germany since the summer.
Ozil quit the national team citing racism and discrimination following Germany’s disastrous 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia. Germany has failed to win a single game since Ozil decided to retire.
The Germany national team shared a photo of Mesut Ozil lifting the World Cup and included the caption, “Happy Birthday, Champ!”
