Lions star Bafetimbi Gomis scored what was to be a consolation goal but his celebration left fans wondering what the meaning was behind his first action.
The striker of Senegalese origin revealed that he was taking a stand against slavery.
Gomis said: “Yesterday I had the chance to score for my team, defeat or victory I must say that my spirit and my feelings were in Libya and in Paris with you who walked against this abomination that is slavery.
“With my eyes closed and my fist raised, this is the way I wanted to celebrate this goal. My heart is bad, the black man is not a market value. When will we stop suffering …..”

Manchester United star Paul Pogba also raised awareness to the plight of slavery in Libya as well in his post match tweet following the game against Newcastle United.
