Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has issued a response to Germany’s shock exit from the 2018 World Cup.
The 29-year-old played the full 90 minutes during both of Germany’s defeats. Joachim Low’s side were eliminated from the competition after finishing bottom of Group F.
Ozil took to social media to express his disappointment at Germany’s exit and also poignantly included the hashtag, Say No To Racism.
The Arsenal playmaker has been the subject of racial slurs over social media and has been the constant point of attack from far-right groups in Germany.
Having to leave the World Cup already after the group stage hurts so much. We just weren't good enough. I'll need some time to get over it. #SayNoToRacism #Worldcup #Russia2018 #M1Ö pic.twitter.com/mFOOhYQZen
