One player who will not be playing is midfielder of Turkish origin Emre Can.
The 24-year-old is suspended but that has not stopped him joining his teammates in Portugal.
Can has joined the rest of the squad, presumably to offer moral support – or perhaps he just wants a break from the cold.
Although at just 12 degrees centigrade, it is not exactly beach weather in Portugal either.
The Reds topped Group E as undefeated leaders, Porto meanwhile finished runners-up in Group G to Besiktas.
The Portuguese giants have an excellent home record in Europe but were beaten 3-1 by Besiktas on Match Day 1 in the Dragao Stadium.
