Photo: Man City Defender Spotted Training, Set For First Start Since Hamstring Injury In Derby Against Fenerbahce

Manchester City defender on loan at Galatasaray Jason Denayer is set for his first start since returning from a hamstring injury.

Denayer was expected to be out until the end of the season but has been recovered sooner than expected.

The Belgium international was involved in full team training for Galatasaray on Wednesday and shared a snap from the session on his Instagram.

Lions boss Fatih Terim used Denayer as his first choice defender on Wednesday and it is worth underlining that the 22-year-old was a regular starter before injury.

If Denayer were to return against Fenerbahce on Saturday he would be thrown into the deep end.

Galatasaray head into one of their most important games of the season. A win would effectively end their rivals title hopes, creating a nine-point gap at the top of the table.

Fenerbahce are currently fourth but they have not lost against Galatasaray at home since 1999.
