Manchester City star playmaker Ilkay Gundogan started Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash on the bench.

The 26-year-old came on late in the second half however his side were already 2-1 down to Liverpool at the Etihad.

Gundogan did manage to find the back of the net however, his goal was chalked off for being offside.

Following the final whistle, the former Borussia Dortmund star sent a message to Liverpool over social media.

Man City have now lost three games in a row but do have the chance to lift the Premier League title this weekend when they take on Tottenham.
